Proposed change of use from Class 1 residences to Class 3A guest house with 8 guest bedrooms. The proposal includes the amalgamation of two existing properties, fronting on two streets, internal alterations, the construction of lift shaft, modification to the design of an approved pool at roof level, covered by PA/10673/18; and the restoration of façade. Internal alterations and construction includes: the demolition of an existing toilet block to the rear and the construction of lift shaft to the rear, including the excavation of a lift pit; alterations to doorways and the opening of new ones at all levels to allow for the amalgamation of the two properties; the addition of platform landings within one of the existing stairwells; alteration to floor levels to allow for access for all, including slight lowering of floor level within the entrance hall at ground level on Triq il-Lunzjata; construction of new floor slab at roof slab to protect retained traditional roof; and repair and reconstruction of the roof of one room at lower level to allow for the construction of pool above. The proposal includes the restoration of façade.
