Sliema - Sliema Point Battery, Triq it-Torri, Sliema

Rehabilitation and restoration of the internal and external spaces of Fort Sliema, including the removal of recent accretions to recover the original casements which housed the RML guns, alterations to the basement level; including the reintegration of the shell stores, the widening of existing openings and creation of new openings, removal of previous internal staircase and lift to be replaced with an internal fire escape staircase; creation of secondary internal service staircase; insertion of a passenger lift to link the ground floor level to the ditch level; installation of a microbrewery within the ditch along Tower Road; creation of external platform lifts within the existing ditch (overlooking the existing car park) for delivery of goods; rehabilitation and general levelling out of the ditch (removal of material); further removal of backfilled material from portions of the original ditch (currently backfilled) to create storage areas for incoming and outgoing goods; removal and organisation of services at roof level (removal of recently cast slabs to create a previous casemated area which will accommodate plant); creation of w.c. facilities; removal of accretions from the seaward facing terrace; and installation of horizontally placed pv’s (as a raised flooring) at roof level.
