ACQUISITION OF LAND (AMENDMENT) DECLARATION BY THE LANDS AUTHORITY WHEREAS by the Declaration of the President of Malta of the 4th February, 1986, the undermentioned land was declared to be required by the competent Authority for a public purpose in accordance with the Land Acquisition (Public Purposes) Ordinance (Chapter 136) and that its acquisition thereof was to be by possession and use. I hereby declare that the undermentioned land is still required by the Government of Malta for a public purpose in accordance with the Government Lands Act (Chapter 573) of the Laws of Malta and that its acquisition thereof is to be by absolute purchase and I am amending the Declaration issued by the Lands Authority published in the Government Gazette of the 30th October, 2025 under Government Notice number 1717 in the sense that such Declaration should have been issued for the for the purposes of Article 68 and 69 of Chapter 573. 4th December, 2025 Description of the Land The following land in Marsa: Premises No. 142, in Triq is-Salib tal-Marsa. The plot of land is shown delineated with the colour green and marked as premises number ‘142’ on plan L.D. no. 209A/85, which may be viewed on demand at the Lands Authority, Auberge de Baviere, Valletta. That this declaration is being issued for the purposes of Article 68 and 69 of Cap. 573 in the way explained in Article 68 (3) of Cap. 573 or according to Article 38 of the same Cap. 573 and the provisions of Articles 52, 53, 54 and 55 of Cap. 573 apply for the same. The compensation offered for the above mentioned plot of land is sixty five thousand, eight hundred and fifty Euros (€65,850), according to the valuation made by Architect 16,102 Gazzetta tal-Gvern ta’ Malta 21,549 Casha, li l-estratt tagħha qed jiġi hawn anness ma’ din id- dikjarazzjoni. As instructed by the Chairman of the Land Authority, in terms of Government Lands Act, Chapter 573 of the Laws of Malta, I am assessing the freehold and unencumbered value in the year 1986, which value was updated along the years according to the index of inflation published in the Schedule of the Housing (Decontrol) Ordinance and this regarding the undermentioned plot of land in Triq is-Salib tal-Marsa, Marsa, which is required by the Government for a public purpose, and this after having considered the locality, size, shape, state and potential, in terms of the plans and boundaries of the development zone as officially published by the Planning Authority, as well as the value of similar properties nearby and other matters which may effect the value of the same property.
